Oxlade-Chamberlain Wants to Play Like Steven Gerrard


leapyguide.com-Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has an 'up-and-down' season in 2016/17. He's  not Arsene Wenger first choice at the beginning of the season. Then he started playing as a central midfielder after Arsenal crushed a player's crisis due to injury in mid-season. But in the final phase of the season, Wenger returns himself to the wing side, but as a right wingback.



Regarding his role as a midfielder, he confessed that it was his dream. He saw Steven Gerrard as an example. The player who grew up in Southampton's academy turned out to want to play like Steven Gerrard, being a game controller from midfield.

"I got the ball from the back line and played more, that's what made me get more playing minutes and I will not complain about that."

"But as a central midfielder, I always want to be like Steven Gerrard (who plays with the same role), so I still have hope of becoming like."

In the 2016/17 season, players who carried off Arsenal in 2011 is playing a total of 45 matches throughout the arena. Himself packed six goals and 11 assists.
